Lakewood Baptist Hosts Drive-Thru Food Collection Saturday

WARWICK, RI — Lakewood Baptist Church hosts its latest drive thru food collection benefitting the RI Community Food Bank and West Bay Marketplace Saturday at 10 a.m.

The event goes on rain or shine till 1 p.m. in the church’s parking lot at 255 Atlantic Ave., Warwick, RI. Organizers are especially interested in canned vegetables, cereal, juice, and mac & cheese. Non-perishable food items and monetary donations are welcomed. Make checks out to Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Lincoln Smith aims to lend a hand during the food drive, which has collected more than 1,000 pounds of food and raised thousands of dollars to help the hungry in Rhode Island in the past.

Last year’s food drive collected $3,519, allowing the charities to purchase more than 10,000 pounds of food.
