WARWICK, RI — On Sept. 1, 7:49 a.m., Shaquille Hall, 30, of North Providence, turned himself in on a June 16 hit & run warrant, missed his Sept. 26 hearing, and is wanted on a bench warrant.
Detective Kyle Palmer processed Hall Sept. 1 and released him with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court Sept. 26.
Court records show Hall failed to appear to answer the hit & run charge on that date, and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued. Once in custody again, he will face a $3,000 (@10% $300.00) surety bond for his release.
June 16 Hit & Run
Warwick Police responded to the reported hit & run crash at the intersection of Main Avenue and Greenwich Avenue between a motorcyle and car June 16 at 4:26 p.m., where the driver of the car had fled the scene of the crash, according to Officer Sara Goes’s report.
The car, a silver 2010 Chevy Malibu, had left on East Avenue, headed for the Rte. 95 North onramp. DMV records indicated the car registration, suspended, belonged to Hall, who also had a suspended license.
Goes reported locating the car using the department’s Flock traffic camera system, which noted the car in the area of Post Road and Rte. 37 North a few minutes after the crash. The system did not lead officers to the driver, however, and Goes used DMV information to ask North Providence police to check Hall’s last known address. NPD officers advised Hall was not there.
Finally, Goes issued a warrant for Hall’s arrest, which the suspect answered himself on Sept. 1.
