WARWICK, RI — The Kent County Grand Jury reported out a secret indictment this week charging Dennis McLaughlin, 51, of 81 Waterman Ave., East Providence, with one count of first degree child molestation and two counts of second degree child molestation occurring in Warwick.
Officials allege that on or about multiple dates between Aug. 15, 2010 and Aug. 15, 2014, McLaughlin molested a girl 14 years old or younger.
An arrest warrant was issued for McLaughlin. The indictment was unsealed when McLaughlin was arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. He was ordered held without bail. The court set Jan. 15, 2018 for determination of attorney.
The alleged incidents took place in Warwick and Warwick Police conducted the investigation.
