Gaspee Days 5K 2024: Results, Photos

CRANSTON, RI — The 59th annual Gaspee Days 5K enjoyed clear weather in the mid 70s, as  members of the 1,741-strong field crossed the finish line at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet to the cheers of spectators, friends and announcers.

The number of runners was 365 more than last year.

Finishing first and second in the men’s division respectively were Abdel Laadjel, 20, of Providence, RI, with a time of 14:20 and Jack MacMahon, 23, of Warwick, RI with a time of 14:38.

Bronson Venable, 33, of Warwick, RI, was third with at time of 14:39.

First place in the women’s open went to Tessa Hunt, 23, of Providence, with a time of 17:24. Second place went to Rachel Schilkowsky, 32, of Providence, RI with a time of 17:55. Third went to Annabelle Eastman, 24, of Providence, wih a time of 18:06.

Runners were welcomed by the crowd as they rounded the final corner headed toward Rhodes on the Pawtuxet for the final few hundred yards on Rhodes Place as the Gaspee Days Parade geared up down the road on Narragansett Parkway, scheduled for 10 a.m.,
