This weekend culminates the 50th celebration of what historians call “The First Blow for Freedom,” the 1772 burning of the HMS Gaspee by a scrappy band of Rhode Islanders, with a number of events, including the Gaspee parade.
Warwick Post contributors and photographers Bethany Hashway and Lincoln Smith brought their cameras along for the celebration, and they’ve shared some of the scenes they captured during the parade Saturday morning.
