Eight Warwick Officers Among 39 Graduating RI State Police Municipal Police Training Academy

LINCOLN, RI — Thirty-nine recruits from 16 agencies throughout Rhode Island graduated from the Rhode IslandRhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy Friday, Dec. 15 at Community College of Rhode Island’s Flanagan Campus. including eight Warwick officers.

Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety, announced the graduation last week.

Recruits earned their certification after 22 weeks and 950 hours of training. The curriculum consisted of training in Physical Fitness, First Responder, Rhode Island Law, Rhode Island Motor Vehicle Code, Report Writing, Firearms, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault, Crash Investigation, Basic Crime Scene Investigation, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Mental Health First Aid, De-Escalation Techniques, Active Shooter, Use of Force, Community Policing, Civil Liability, Fair & Impartial Policing and Hate Crimes.

“Congratulations to the 129th Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy graduates, and welcome aboard Probationary Officers Caradimos, Collins, D’Abrosca, Odell, Paine, and Tanner!” Warwick Police wrote on their Facebook page following the graduation.
