WARWICK, RI — A Warwick man turned himself in to Coventry Police Jan. 14, after which they charged him with 10 Counts of Cruelty to Animals and 10 Counts of Mistreatment of Animals at his Coventry property.

On Jan. 13,  Coventry Police and Animal Control Officers, the RISPCA, and members of the State Of Rhode Island Veterinarians Office executed a Search Warrant at a Twin Brook Lane property in Coventry. The land belongs to David Pancarowicz, 61, of Warwick.

Multiple animals were being kept in “deplorable conditions” at the site, Coventry Police report. The animals did not have access to adequate food or water, and some of the animals were found severely under weight.  Several animals were seized from the property: five cows (two of the five were calves), four goats, one sheep, one donkey, and one piglet.

Pancarowicz  turned himself in to the Coventry Police on Jan. 14. He will be formally arraigned in Kent County District Court in within months, according to Coventry Police.
The Coventry Police Department thanked the RISPCA and the RI State Veterinarian’s Office for their assistance in the case.
All of the animals that were seized from the property are currently being held in foster care until the case is resolved, Coventry Police report.
