COVENTRY, RI — By 11 p.m., with all precincts reporting, Coventry was poised to add RIDOT Associate Director JP Verducci and Hopkins Hill Fire Chief Frank Brown to new at-large Town Council seats.
Brown commanded a slim majority of the votes with 7,495 to Verducci’s 7,265. Former state senator Leo R. Blais had 5,460 votes.
Coventry Town Council: Coventry 2024 Election Results
Dist. 2 race: Voters favored incumbent Alicia Capaldi over Cheryl Kane for Town Council Dist. 2 with 1,775 votes to Kane’s 1,355.
Dist. 5 race: Coventry voters supported Republican Scott Copley over Democrat Mike Grattan, with 1,063 votes to Grattan’s 726.

Coventry School Committee: Coventry 2024 Election Results
For the non-partisan Coventry School Committee race, voters supported Dorothy A. Jackvony over Cody J. Reidl, with 9,418 votes to Riedl’s 7,403 votes.
Federal & State Races: Coventry 2024 Election Results
In the federal races, Donald Trump led over Vice President Kamala Harris 10,655 to 7,471 in Coventry while the town supported longtime Republican state representative Patricia Morgan over incumbent Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse by a slim margin, 9,839 to 8,100 votes. Statewide, Whitehouse led 245,197 to 179,951 votes. Incumbent Democrat Rep. Seth Magaziner trailed Republican Steven Corvi in Coventry 9,230 to 8,410.
RI Senate
RI Senate Dist. 33 Democrat Leo Raptakis was ahead of challenger Republican James Pierson, current Coventry School Committee Chairman, at 6,869 votes to his challenger’s 5,104 votes.
RI House
For RI House Dist. 26, Democrat contender Earl Read was leading Republican Candidate Jeffrey W. Fisher and Independent Vincent Marzullo with 682 votes to his contenders 485 and 127 votes, respectively.
The winner will serve in the seat currently held by current Republican Dist. 26 Rep. Patricia Morgan, who is running against incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
