WARWICK, RI — The Warwick City Council has a lot on its agenda for its first September meeting Wednesday, including a WFD truck repair bid, several variances for the former Conte’s Restaurant lot and repairs to the HVAC systems for the Thayer and Warburton arenas.

Under unfinished business, petitioner Carpionato Group seeks several variances from the the city to change the parcel at 576 Naples Ave. zoning from General Business / Residential A-7 to simply General Business for the entire 1.4 acre lot, with variances on the zoning for parking spots, buffers, allowance of multiple uses, setbacks and signage.

The parcel is across from the Stop and Shop and Lowes, and adjacent to a residential neighborhood. Carpionato’s plans for the lot include a 2,200 sq. ft. restaurant and a 1,500 sq. ft. bank, with a 41-space parking lot.

Among the items on the Council’s agenda is a bid for WFD apparatus repairs from Coastal International Trucks of Warwick for $50,000.

Councilors will also consider a bid for HVAC repairs to the Thayer and Warburton arenas by Environmental Systems, Inc., 2980 W. Shore Rd. for $3,620.85.
