WARWICK,RI — Warwick Police were called to The Trap bar at 195 Old Forge Road Feb. 18 at 1:33 a.m. for a report of a man who had thrown a shot glass at a woman, striking her, and arrested the man on an assault charge.

Officer Jonathan Reiff arrived at the bar and found that another officer had already arrested the suspect and took custody of the man, identified as Timothy Gaudette,27. Reiff placed Gaudette into his cruiser and went into the bar to speak with witnesses.

Inside, the bar manager told Reiff that Gaudette had become unruly, creating numerous disturbances throughout the night, and he asked the man to leave. Gaudette had punched a TV screen and ripped it off the wall, and yelled profanity at the bar staff.

A woman standing nearby during Gaudette’s violent behavior said she’d been ordering a drink at the bar when the man threw a shot glass, hitting her in the right shoulder. He then “got in her face,” according to the report, yelling at her to “say something,.”

Reiff  transported Gaudette to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, where he was charged with Simple Assault and Battery, Vandalism/Malicious Injury, and Disorderly Conduct.

Reiff advised Gaudette of a no-trespass order against him from The Trap, and of his court date to answer the charges on March 27.
