The driver led officers down Post Road, Jefferson Boulevard and onto Rte. 95 North, Warwick Police report.
Driver fled, crashed
The driver, later identified as Roberto Lopez, 45, of Central Falls, lost two tires on his vehicle during the pursuit and also lost control, crashing into two marked Warwick Police Department cruisers.
Lopez then fled the vehicle on foot, then jumped a fence onto Wellington Avenue in Cranston, where officers apprehended him.
There were no injuries reported.
Warwick Police charged Lopez with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown), eluding law enforcement, two counts of failure to stop for an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle, driving without a license (4th or subsequent offense), and obstructing an officer in the execution of duty.
Lopez was also found to be wanted on an extraditable warrant out of Maine for carrying a prohibited weapon.
