
WARWICK, RI – Warwick Police report they apprehended a Bank RI robber suspect in Providence with Providence Police after the 39-year-old man gave a note to the Jefferson Boulevard bank’s teller Wednesday, taking $1,000 and fleeing by car.
At about 3;40 p.m. Feb. 12, the Warwick Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at the Bank Rhode Island at 265 Jefferson Boulevard, according to a police statement.
Bank RI robber used note, GMC getaway car
The suspect, identified as David Rogers, 39, entered the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding cash. The teller complied, providing Rogers with about $1,000 before he fled the scene in an older model GMC with no license plates.
Warwick Police investigators identified Rogers and later located him in Providence with the assistance of Cranston Police, where he was taken into custody without incident by members of the Providence and Warwick Police Departments
Rogers has been charged with Second-Degree Robbery (RIGL 11-39-1(b)). He is being held overnight at the Warwick Police Department, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, and will be arraigned tomorrow at Kent County Courthouse in Warwick.
