WARWICK, RI — Monday morning, Warwick Police executed a court-authorized search warrant at 27 Carnation Dr., arresting a father and son, Michael L. Bevelaqua, 69 and Michael DeCosta, 35, on illegal drug and firearms charges.
The warrant was the result of a narcotics investigation begun by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Warwick Police announced Monday afternoon.
Warwick Police, released the nature of the illegal drugs connected to the arrests after the pair appear for arraignment Tuesday in 3rd Division District Court.Â
Police said Bevelaqua will be charged with: Two counts of Conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, Possession of firearms after having been convicted of a Crime of Violence and Possession of Oxycontin, a Controlled Substance classified as Schedule II.Â
DeCosta will be charged with: Two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, a Controlled Substance classified as Schedule II, Two counts of Conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and Possession of a Controlled Substance classified as Schedule II.
