WARWICK, RI — This week’s Warwick Weekend events offer two Warwick Unified Basketball events, a play produced by the Toll Gate drama club Friday and Saturday, improv and open skating.

The Warwick Weekend events weather forecast promises a  sunny start Friday in the 50s, then rain through Saturday and Sunday with temps going to low 60s then high 50s,  the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this Warwick weekend: 

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Toll Gate Drama Club: The Alibis On Friday, 7 p.m. see the Toll Gate Drama Club production of The Alibis at the Robert J. Shapiro Arts Center at the school. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Unified BBall: Toll Gate vs. Hendricken Get a preview of Warwick Unified Basketball in action Friday at 4 p.m. at Toll Gate High. The big tournament happens Saturday morning.

Bring Your Own Improv, WCFA Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $11.63. If you’re looking for something fun to do late on a Friday night in Warwick, they’ve got you covered. Their Caffeinated Insomniacs Comedy show – designed for teens and adults – is the place to be at 10 p.m. Their show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved.

Thayer Arena Public Skate: Through March, Friday and Sunday, Public Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Cost to Skate is $5 – Children 5 and under are free. Skate Rentals are available at Sandy Lane Sports across the street from the rink.

  • Fridays 3:15-5:15 p.m.
  • Sundays 12:50 – 2:30 p.m.

No Skate Dates: Fridays: 2/9 & 3/22 Sundays: 3/10

Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a guardian who is 18 years or older. Children ages 13-17 without an adult staying onsite must be paid for and signed in by an adult that can leave emergency contact information. Only persons wearing skates are permitted on the ice surface. Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

Unified Bball Tournament, Hendricken Join the city’s basketball teams at Hendricken School, 2615 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI at 9 a.m. for the Unified Basketball Tournament. Admission is free. Canned good donations will be accepted at the door. Food trucks will be at the event in case you  skip breakfast and for lunch.
