WARWICK, RI — Warwick Weekend events this week feature food trucks, the Shriner’s Temple grand opening, a family fun day and a Fourth Be With You market, all during two days of sunny spring weather, ending with a chance of rain.

The Warwick Weekend events weather forecast promises sunny skies in the 60s and 70s Friday and Saturday, before a chance of rain Sunday, the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this Warwick weekend:

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Shriners Temple Grand Opening Doors open at 6 p.m. with dueling pianos!  Come check out our newly renovated bar and lounge at Rhode Island Shriners, 1 Rhodes Place, in beautiful, historic Pawtuxet Village in Cranston. Enjoy the comedy and sing along to all the hits. Only $10/person admission. Specialty cocktails! See flyer attached. Open to the public. You do not need to be a Shriner or affiliated with one to attend these events.

WCFA Yoga Visit the Warwick Center or the Arts (WCFA),  3273 Post Road Warwick, every Friday 10 – 11 a.m. for yoga. (subject to change during summer camp sessions)

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays End your week at Food Truck Friday – an outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starting at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

The Carousel campus has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

Bring Your Own Improv, WCFA Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $11.63. If you’re looking for something fun to do late on a Friday night in Warwick, they’ve got you covered. Their Caffeinated Insomniacs Comedy show – designed for teens and adults – is the place to be at 10 p.m. Their show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved.

Thayer Arena Public Skate: Through March, Friday and Sunday, Public Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Cost to Skate is $5 – Children 5 and under are free. Skate Rentals are available at Sandy Lane Sports across the street from the rink.

  • Fridays 3:15-5:15 p.m.
  • Sundays 12:50 – 2:30 p.m.

No Skate Dates: Fridays: 2/9 & 3/22 Sundays: 3/10

Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a guardian who is 18 years or older. Children ages 13-17 without an adult staying onsite must be paid for and signed in by an adult that can leave emergency contact information. Only persons wearing skates are permitted on the ice surface. Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

The imPOSSIBLE Dream Family Fun Day Enjoy a Family Fun Day from 4 to 6 p.m. at the The imPOSSIBLE Dream Playground, 575 Centerville Road! It was Rhode Island’s first integrated playground, founded by John Florio, who wanted to provide a play-friendly environment for children of all physical abilities!

Your Donation Matters! The Impossible Dream Playground is not state- or city-funded and relies entirely on donations from people like you to stay open. Every dollar you give helps keep this playground accessible for children of all abilities.

Healthy Kids Day, YMCA Visit the Kent County YMCA, 900 Centerville Rd, Warwick, RI, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We have 30 community partners scheduled to participate and provide information and giveaways!

Braton Cemetery Clean-up. From 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Visit WK#34 Braton Cemetery located at 3478 Post Rd. Bring rakes and gloves if you have them. A limited amount can be provided. We will provide water and snacks. Community service hours are available.

  

Warwick Weekend Events Sunday:

May the Fourth Be With You Marketplace  Join us for an out-of-this-world shopping experience at Warwick Mall on Sunday, May 4, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
