Warwick Weekend Events: Food Trucks Are Back, Eggs, Art

WARWICK, RI — This week’s Warwick Weekend events feature food trucks’ return, the final Emerging Art Exhibit weekend, an egg hunt, and public skating.

The Warwick Weekend events weather forecast promises mostly sunny skies and warming weather, starting with temps rising into the high 50s Thursday, up to 60 Friday then in the 70s Saturday before falling to 66 Sunday, the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this Warwick weekend: 

Warwick Weekend Events Thursday:

Crowne Plaza Food Truck Night Make yourself at home on the lawn for this evening’s return of food trucks at Crowne Plaza in Warwick, 801 Greenwich Ave., from 5 – 8 p.m.. Bring chairs, blankets, and your favorite lawn games. Create your perfect relaxation spot and enjoy the evening with family and friends. Attendance to the event is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from over a dozen food trucks accepting cash and cards.

In addition to great food, there will be live music  and Trinity Brewhouse will be serving up will be serving up local beer and wine. Friendly, leashed pets are permitted but not encouraged.
WCFA Emerging Artists Exhibit This is a special exhibit for us, featuring young emerging artists from both high school and college. But don’t let their youth fool you! The artwork is extraordinary! Come see it before it closes April 19! The gallery is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge for admission.

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays End your week at Food Truck Friday – an outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starting at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

The Carousel campus has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

WCFA Emerging Artists Exhibit This is a special exhibit for us, featuring young emerging artists from both high school and college. But don’t let their youth fool you! The artwork is extraordinary! Come see it before it closes April 19! The gallery is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge for admission.

 WCFA Yoga Visit the Warwick Center or the Arts (WCFA),  3273 Post Road Warwick, every Friday 10 – 11 a.m. for yoga. (subject to change during summer camp sessions)

 Bring Your Own Improv, WCFA Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $11.63. If you’re looking for something fun to do late on a Friday night in Warwick, they’ve got you covered. Their Caffeinated Insomniacs Comedy show – designed for teens and adults – is the place to be at 10 p.m. Their show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved.

Thayer Arena Public Skate: Through March, Friday and Sunday, Public Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Cost to Skate is $5 – Children 5 and under are free. Skate Rentals are available at Sandy Lane Sports across the street from the rink.

  • Sundays 12:50 – 2:30 p.m.

No Skate Dates: Fridays: 2/9 & 3/22 Sundays: 3/10

Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a guardian who is 18 years or older. Children ages 13-17 without an adult staying onsite must be paid for and signed in by an adult that can leave emergency contact information. Only persons wearing skates are permitted on the ice surface. Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

WCFA Emerging Artists Exhibit This is a special exhibit for us, featuring young emerging artists from both high school and college, ages 14 -22. But don’t let their youth fool you! The artwork is extraordinary! Come see it before it closes April 19! The gallery is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge for admission.

Conimicut Village Easter Egg Hunt Join the family fun in Conimicut Village at their annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, 10 a.m., at Clegg Field, Winter Ave, Warwick.

  • Two Groups: Pre-K and younger • Kindergarten to 10 Y/O

Hockey Night This Saturday Night at Thayer Arena 975 Sandy Lane Warwick, RI, Hockey Night returns. After the success of last years event, we have expanded to include teams from all Warwick high school hockey alumni. Warwick Vets Alum vs. Pilgrim Alum at 5pm. Tollgate Alum vs. Hendricken Alum at 7pm.

Prior to puck drop of game 2, we will be honoring the late Tom Cavanagh with a jersey retirement ceremony. Tom’s work ethic, determination, and humbleness were an inspiration to all fortunate enough to have known him. We are honored to play in his memory! In addition to raising money for the TGC Fund, Hendricken Alum will be donating to the James Allenson Scholarship, Vets and Pilgrim, raising funds for the Warwick Junior Hockey. WCFA Collage Open Studio Explore the art of collage in this drop-in studio session organized for both beginners and seasoned collage enthusiasts. Bring your materials, start a new project or continue working on something in progress. This is an open studio without formal instruction; however, everyone is encouraged to share work, techniques, tips, questions and answers. Come and create, experiment, or simply enjoy a coffee with fellow artists. Free Open Studio for WCFA Members / $10 for non-members
