WARWICK, RI — It’s all about the pups, as this Warwick weekend features two dog adoption events, along with a Touch-a-Truck event, a Back-to-School Spectacular, and a fun concert for children.

The Warwick Weekend events weather forecast promises sunny, with a high near 82 Friday, sunny, with a high near 79 Saturday, and sunny with a chance of showers Sunday, the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this Warwick weekend:

Warwick Weekend Events Friday: 

Farmers Market at Goddard Memorial State Park Support and enjoy local food and farmers! Join our weekly farmers market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and get to know the hardworking people who grow your veggies, fruit, flowers, and favorite foods! For the first few weeks, the market mostly offers bedding plants, hanging plants, cut flowers, meat, early vegetable crops, honey, and maple syrup. As traditional local summer crops become available, additional vendors will participate.

 Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays End your week at Food Truck Friday – an outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starting at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

The Carousel campus has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

Bring Your Own Improv, WCFA Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $11.63. If you’re looking for something fun to do late on a Friday night in Warwick, they’ve got you covered. Their Caffeinated Insomniacs Comedy show – designed for teens and adults – is the place to be at 10 p.m. Their show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved.

Thayer Arena Public Skate Through August Fridays, Public Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Cost to Skate is $5 – Children 5 and under are free. Skate Rentals are available at Sandy Lane Sports across the street from the rink.

Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a guardian who is 18 years or older. Children ages 13-17 without an adult staying onsite must be paid for and signed in by an adult that can leave emergency contact information. Only persons wearing skates are permitted on the ice surface. Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

Big Wheels, Big Smiles— Touch-a-Truck in Warwick Wheels, wonder, and wide-eyed kiddos— right here in Warwick! Bierman Autism Centers in Warwick is rolling out a free, sensory-friendly Touch-a-Truck Adventure on Saturday, August 16 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Kids ages 2-9 (all families welcome) can climb aboard real emergency, construction, and service vehicles— without the blaring horns or flashing sirens.

There will be a Hands-On Truck Zone with a fire engine, police cruiser, construction equipment, and more. Kids can touch the steering wheel, flip safe switches, and snap photos in the driver’s seat. There will also be an Outdoor Game Alley where kids can run, play, and enjoy fun games designed for all ability levels, along with a Snack Stop so kids can refuel with tasty treats throughout the event.

Rock-a-Baby Outdoor Concert Rock-a-Baby introduces music to infants and toddlers in fun and exciting new ways. With interactive play, children have a unique opportunity to be “in the band” and engage in a stimulating and educational musical experience.

Grab a blanket or chair, bring the whole family, and join us on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1276 Bald Hill Road, Warwick from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for a highly entertaining 45-minute concert. Expect puppets, instruments for the children to play with, sing-along to a book, bubbles, and a whole lot of fun. Three entertainers on guitar, vocals, and keyboard will play a variety of songs to keep the concert rockin’— ranging from kid’s songs to rock n’ roll. Registration is required, one ticket per family. We recommend this concert for children ages six months to six years old. We hope to see you there!

Pups at Par Join us at 150 Gray St., Warwick every Saturday from 12-4 p.m. for Pups at Par. Bring your well-behaved furry friends for a relaxing lunch at our scenic property. Treat yourself to delicious food while your pups explore and unwind in a pet-friendly atmosphere, where they can even enjoy some pup-friendly menu specials. Don’t miss out on the fun and a chance to make some new furry-friends.

Conimicut Village Farmers Market Come to our local farmers market every Saturday morning starting June 7 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Enjoy fresh, locally grown produce, unique handmade goods, and support small businesses in your community. It’s a great way to connect with neighbors and experience the vibrant flavors of the season.

This farmers market will take place every Saturday from June 7 to Sept. 27.

Warwick Weekend Events Sunday:

Unleash the Summer Love Adoption Event Come on out to Rumford Pet Express on Sunday, Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our Unleash the Summer Love Adoption Event. This event, hosted by Small Dog Rescue of New England, presents the paw-fect opportunity to meet some of the adorable adoptable dogs. Come on out to support pet adoption, and maybe meet your new furry best friend. We hope to see you there!

New England Friends Dog Adoption Event Come on out to 1275 Bald Hill Road, Warwick on Sunday, August 17 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. for New England Friends Dog Adoption Event. This event, hosted by Deez Louise Dogs, is a great opportunity to get to know your local rescue dogs. Meet and adopt all in the same day! We hope to see you there.
