Trooper Log Coventry Arrests Sept. 6-11: Meth, Counterfeit Bill

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  Sept. 6-11 involved charges for DUI, counterfeit bills, and meth possession.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Kent County and Coventry arrests in the Coventry area:

Kent County, Coventry Arrests Sept. 6 – 11

Suspended License, WW stop On Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025 at 10:03 a.m., troopers arrested Mizrrain J. Rojas, 42, of 22 Rita St., Floor 1, West Warwick, Rhode Island for Driving with a Suspended License – Certain Violations – First Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hay Street in the Town of West Warwick. Mr. Rojas was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center where he was held as a bail violator.

Rte. 95 stop, counterfeit bill/note On Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10:15 p.m., troopers arrested Samba Soumare, 36, of 6522 Allman St., Philadelphia, PA for Importation or possession of counterfeit certificate, bill or note. The arrest was the result of troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Rte. 95 and was subsequently located on New London Turnpike in the Town of Coventry.

Soumare was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court date.

PA Warrant, Assault On Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025 at 10:15 p.m., troopers arrested Jacob Momo, 35, of 6332 Regent St., Philadelphia, PA on an Extraditable Affidavit/Arrest warrant on the original charge of Aggravated Assault originating out of the Philadelphia Police Department.

The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Rte. 95 and was subsequently located on New London Turnpike in Coventry. Momo was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace held overnight as Fugitive from Justice.

Wanted for assault On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at 1:15 p.m., troopers arrested Edward Pesiri, 56, of 481 Fairview Ave., Coventry, Rhode Island, for a Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Simple Assault and/or Battery originating out of the Coventry Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Manor Drive in the Town of West Warwick. Pesiri was processed at the State Police Hope Valley Barracks and transported to Third Division District Court for Arraignment.

Methamphetamine possession On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at 12 a.m., troopers arrested Leah Mathis, 40, of 780 Poplar Springs Road, Dalton, Georgia, for 1.) Possession with Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine and 2.) Possession of Schedule I – V Controlled Substance Under 10 Grams (Alprazolam). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the Town of East Greenwich. Mathis was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed before being transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

WG Stop, DUI charge On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 1:46 a.m., troopers arrested Justin Bothur, 40, of 53 Potter Hill Road, Westerly, Rhode Island for 1.) DUI of Liquor – BAC Unknown – First Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test – First Offense The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the Town of West Greenwich. Bothur was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned and released with a Third Division District Court date.

Coventry Stop, Marijuana Possession On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 2:31 p.m., troopers arrested Jayron Ortega Martinez,  18, of 41 Sackett St., Providence, Rhode Island, for Possession of Marijuana – More than Two Ounces. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in Coventry.

Ortega Martinez was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Third Division District Court date.
