

COVENTRY, RI —Coventry arrests and Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log Feb. 28 – March 5 involved charges for DUI and escape from the ACI.

Coventry Arrests Feb. 28 – March 1
Hit & Run At 2:43 p.m. Feb. 28, Troopers arrested Scott Chase, 60, of 350 Mishnock Road, West Greenwich, Rhode Island for 1.) Duty to Stop for an Accident Resulting in Damage to Attended Vehicle.
The arrest was the result of a BOLO from West Greenwich Police Department and Troopers subsequently locating the vehicle on New London Turnpike in the Town of West Greenwich.
Chase was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the Peace and later released with a future Third District Court date.
Wanted, Missed Hearing, soliciting child charge At 4:50 p.m. Feb. 28, troopers arrested Lee Bromley, 60, of 415 Hog House Hill Road, Exeter, Rhode Island for 1.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Indecent Solicitation of a Child out of the West Greenwich Police Department, 2.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Possession of Schedule I – V out of the West Greenwich Police Department and 3.) Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Driving with Suspended License out of the West Greenwich Police Department.
The arrest was the result of troopers conducting a warrant check at 415 Hog House Hill Road and locating Bromley at his residence. Mr. Bromley was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions – Men’s Intake.
EG stop, DUI charge At 11:26 p.m. March 1, troopers arrested Jesse Bussiere, 33, of 67 Beacon Drive, North Kingstown, Rhode Island, 02852, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor/Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.
The arrest was the result of motor vehicle stop on Rte. 4 in East Greenwich. The subject was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and later released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third District Court date.
Rte. 95 stop, crack possession charge On Wednesday, March 4, at 11:30 a.m., troopers arrested Richard Ford, 64, of 1021 Main St., Apt. 1105, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I – V Under 10 Grams (Crack Cocaine).
The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich.
Ford was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to Third District Court for arraignment.
No contact order violation On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:15 p.m., troopers arrested Erica L. Polke, 43, of 72 Stadden St., Providence, Rhode Island, for 1.) Domestic Violence – Criminal Violation of a No Contact Order – First Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Centre of New England Boulevard in the Town of Coventry. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.
WG stop, marijuana possession On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:06 a.m., troopers arrested Albert Matos, 34, of 346 Union Ave., Apt. 1, Cranston, Rhode Island, for Possession of Marijuana Over 2 Ounces.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.
Quaker Lane stop, DUI charge On Thursday, March 5, at 2:19 a.m., troopers arrested Christina Garris, 28, of 74 Pond St., Apt. 2, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – B.A.C. Unknown – First Offense; and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Quaker Lane, in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.
ACI escape charge On March 4, 2026, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Benjamin Webster, 40, of 707 Washington Street, Coventry, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Escape from a Correctional Institution from Rhode Island State Police ACI Unit detectives.
Webster was taken into custody, transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and ultimately arraigned in Third District Court.
