COVENTRY, RI —Coventry arrests and Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  March 5 – 15 involved charges for shots fired in a compact area, child porn, cocaine, DUI and fraud.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Coventry arrests and Kent County arrests:

Kent County, Coventry Arrests March 1 – 15

Shooting Firearm, Compact Area Charge On Monday, March 9, at 11 a.m., troopers arrested Angel Pinero, 22, of 124 Morin Heights Boulevard, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for 1) Firing without landowner’s permission — Firing in compact area, and 2) Vandalism, out of the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in the Town of West Warwick. Pinero was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and turned over to the Woonsocket Police Department.

Child Porn Possession Charge On March 6, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Isaac Walker, 18, of 33 Sheffield Ave., Coventry, Rhode Island, for Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Walker was processed at the Wickford Barracks and transported to Third District Court.

Walker was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Caruolo, who issued $5,000 with surety, with special conditions of no unsupervised contact with minors and restricted internet access.

WG Stop, DUI Charge On Wednesday, March 11, at 12:18 a.m., troopers arrested Devesh Naik, 28, of 6 Aspen Court, Monmouth, New Jersey, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – B.A.C .08 to .10 – First Offense (Phase I: .094% and Phase II: .081%). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 3 in West Greenwich.

Naik was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court Date.

Food Stamp Fraud Charge At 6:15 p.m. March 11, troopers arrested Caine Pincince, 45, of 31 Steven Drive, West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1) Giving False Document To Agent, Employee, or Public Official 2) Obtaining Property By False Pretense > $10,000.00 3) Access To Computer For Fraudulent Purposes 4) Fraudulently Obtain Public Assistance > $500.00 5) Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps > $500.00 6) Fugitive from Justice out of the State of Connecticut for the original charge of Issuing a Bad Check (2 counts), Larceny 3rd Degree (2 Counts) originating out of the Connecticut State Police- Troop C.

The arrest was the result of a Barracks investigation, and the subject turned himself into the Hope Valley Barracks. The subject was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men’s Intake pending morning arraignment at Third District Court.

No Contact Order Violation Charge At 12:49 a.m., troopers arrested Matthew Sweet, 40, of 12 Epworth Ave., Unit 1, West Warwick, Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic Violence – No Contact Order originating out of the Warwick Police Department. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in the City of West Warwick. The subject was transported to State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Warwick Police Department.

Cocaine Possession Charge At 10:45 p.m. March 14, troopers arrested Karen Reise, 54, of 28 Lee Ave., Apt. 2, Newport, Rhode Island, for 1.) Possession of a Schedule I to V Controlled Substance – Ten Grams or Less (Cocaine). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Division Road, in the Town of East Greenwich.

Reise was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace Judge, and released with a future Third Division District Court date.

EG Stop, DUI Charge On Monday, March 16, at 12:45 a.m., troopers arrested John Shea, 38, of 7 Pebble Circle, Bellingham, Massachusetts, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – First Offense- BAC Unknown. 2.) Possession of schedule I to V Controlled Substance 10 Grams or less.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in East Greenwich. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court Date.
