

COVENTRY, RI —Coventry arrests and Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log Dec. 26 – Jan. 3 involved charges for cocaine possession & reckless driving, and spreading indecent material.

Kent County Arrests Dec. 26 – Jan. 3:
Spreading indecent material charge At 4 p.m. Jan. 1, troopers arrested Stephanie Hopkins, 40, of 57 Princeton Ave., Coventry, Rhode Island, for 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Unauthorized Dissemination of Indecent Material- 1st Offense.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation by troopers, and the subject was taken into custody at her residence.
Hopkins was transported to the State Police- Wickford Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace as a probation violator, and later transported to Adult Correctional Institutions- Women’s Intake Center.
Cocaine possession charge At 9:20 p.m. Jan. 2, troopers arrested Richard Boulanger, 72, of 25 Cedar St., Cranston, Rhode Island, for 1.) Possession of a Schedule I to V Controlled Substance 10 Grams or Less (Cocaine). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Quaker Lane in the Town of West Warwick.
Boulanger was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court date.
Stolen firearm, reckless driving, hit & run charges On Sunday, Jan. 4, at 2:31 a.m., troopers arrested Victor Encarnacion, 38, of 404 Bridge St. Apt. 322, Groton, Connecticut, for 1.) License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol; 2.) Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons Prohibited; 3.) Possession of a Stolen Firearm; 4.) Eluding Law Enforcement – High-Speed Pursuit – First Offense; 5.) Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety – First Offense; 6) Duty to Stop in Accident Resulting in Damage to Attended Vehicle; and 7.) Receiving Stolen Goods – Under $1,500.
The arrest was the result of motor vehicle pursuit and subsequent apprehension on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich. Encarnacion was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and later turned over to the Providence Police Department.
