WARWICK, RI — There was a big turnout at the third Warwick Ocean State Job Lot Grand Opening at 300 Quaker Lane Saturday, with Mayor Frank Picozzi, giveaways, activities and a coat donation to American Legion Post 43.

The store is not just the third Warwick Ocean State Job Lot, it’s also the largest, offering nearly 39,000 square feet of retail shopping space. But that space was still cramped as scores of people got a look at the new store, listened to  remarks from local officials and OSJL executives, enjoyed complimentary donuts from Poppin Minis Donut Truck, and got glitter tattoos and pictures with Santa for their kids.

Guests signed up as Job Lot Insiders that made a purchase during the event also had the opportunity to win three giveaway items valued at more than $400. DJs from Lite Rock 105 were also there, playing tunes and doing giveaways.

The OSJL Charitable Foundation also donated 50 warm winter coats to American Legion Post 43 to help underserved veterans and their families stay warm during the colder months.

New Warwick Ocean State Job Lot one of many in recent expansion

“It’s always exciting to expand in our home state, especially when we can revitalize a vacant space, and
we are thrilled to finally open the doors of our 17 th store in Rhode Island,” said Therese Sloane, Store
Team Leader, Ocean State Job Lot in Warwick, referencing the former tenant of the space, Christmas Tree Shops.

OSJL opened new locations in Pembroke, MA and Avon, MA, also former Christmas Tree Shops locations
this fall, and will celebrate openings in Holmdel, NJ; Pottstown, PA; Augusta, ME; and St. Alban’s, VT
before year’s end.

Founded in 1977, Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) is a growing, privately held discount retail chain with 158 stores in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, approximately 5,600 employees, and annual sales exceeding $800 million.
