Vella-Wilkinson Bill Grants State Benefits to Gay Vets Discharged ‘Undesirable’
Rhode Island, site of one of the first recorded controversies involving homosexuals in the military in Newport in 1919, may grant state benefits for gay veterans discharged under the military’s “Undesirable” designation if Rep. Camille F.J. Vella-Wilkinson’s (D-Dist. 21, Warwick) bill is successful.
