RI Trooper Log: Kent County Arrests for DUI, Cocaine, Assault

COVENTRY, RI —  Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  July 10 – 17 involved charges for DUI, crack cocaine possession, domestic violence, and assault with intent to commit murder.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Coventry and other Kent County arrests:

DUI, Rte. 95 stop in WG At 3:07 a.m. July 14, troopers arrested Yimel Gonzalez Almonte, 38, of 121 Sorrento Ave., East Haven, Connecticut, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – B.A.C Unknown – First Offense; and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Assault, Domestic Violence, Boston Street arrest At 8:35 a.m. July 15, troopers arrested Gilbert E. Melo Ledesma, 25 of 441 Sharon St., Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Limited Extradition Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Domestic Felony Assault originating out of the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, 2.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Simple Assault originating out of the Providence Police Department, 3.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Conspiracy originating out of the Providence Police Department, 4.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Attorney General Request – on the original charge of Manufacturing/Delivery/Possession with Intent to Deliver originating out of the North Providence Police Department, 5.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Attorney General Request – 9 on the original charge of Domestic Felony Assault originating out of the North Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a 24-hour Domestic Violence rule BOLO from Providence Police Department and Troopers locatingLedesma at 34 Boston St., Coventry, Rhode Island. Melo Ledesma was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to the Providence Police Department.

Assault with intent to murder, EG stop At 7:05 p.m. July 15 Troopers arrested Jan Carlos Arroyo-Diaz, 23, of 252 Division St., Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1.) Obstruction and 2.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the charge of assault with intent to commit certain felonies (murder), two counts of felony assault and battery and disorderly conduct originating out of the Pawtucket Police Department.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 4 in East Greenwich. Mr. Arroyo-Diaz was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace where he was presented as a bail violator and then transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

WG stop, cocaine possession At 9:05 a.m. July 17, troopers arrested Mark P. Belinskas, age 52, of 136 Derby St., Worcester, Massachusetts, for Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V Under 10 Grams (Crack/Cocaine). This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in  West Greenwich. Belinskas was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to Third District Court for arraignment.

WG stop, DUI arrest At 11:31 p.m. July 17, troopers arrested Holly Gilman, 41, of 18 Robin Hollow Lane, Westerly, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – .15 or Greater (Phase I: % 0.202 / Phase II: % 0.217) – First Offense. This arrest was the result of an E-911 call for an Erratic Operator and troopers subsequently locating the vehicle on Nooseneck Hill Road, in the Town of West Greenwich.

Gilman was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
