Lakewood Baptist Thanksgiving Food Drive Delivers 996 Lbs. of Food

WARWICK, RI — Lakewood Baptist Church is celebrating a successful 2025 Thanksgiving Food Drive, held throughout the first three weeks of November, supporting West Bay Marketplace and families experiencing food insecurity.

Thanks to the generosity of church members, neighbors, and partner organizations, this year’s collection exceeded expectations.  966 pounds of non-perishable food items, holiday meal staples, and grocery gift cards were donated—enough to help stock West Bay Marketplace as it prepares to serve a growing number of local households during the Thanksgiving season.

Pastor Ron Provencal and fello church leaders praised the congregation for its compassion and commitment to service. “Our mission has always been to share Christ’s love in practical ways,” leadership at Lakewood Baptist Church said in a statement abouot the food drive, “Seeing our community unite so generously for those in need is a blessing and a reminder of what the spirit of Thanksgiving is truly about.”

The food drive was organized by Lincoln smith and sponsored by our “HELP END HUNGER” Food Ministry.  Volunteers helped sort and pack up the food for pick up by West Bay Marketplace earlier this week. The food pantry expressed deep appreciation for the support, noting that the church’s contributions will make a meaningful difference for families facing food insecurity during the holidays.

“Lakewood Baptist Church extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and looks forward to continuing its mission of service throughout the year,’ the church announced.
