WARWICK, RI —  On Sunday, Nov. 09, at about 11:39 p.m., officers were called to 1073 West Shore Road for a hit & run involving a red Ford F150 driver colliding head-on with a gray Toyota RAV4, injuring two occupants, fleeing and crashing again.

As Warwick Police Officers responded to the scene, they came across a second crash scene involving the same red Ford F150 at the intersection of West Shore Rd and Sandy Lane. The F150 had become disabled after crossing left of center and colliding head-on with Warwick Fire Ladder 3 which had been responding to the first accident scene.

The hit & run suspect was identified as Brian Weaver, 46, of Warwick. Weaver was taken into custody and transported by rescue for treatment of minor lacerations. At the hospital, he was asked to submit to a blood test for suspicion of DUI, which he refused. Weaver was subsequently charged
with one felony count of Duty to Stop in Accident Resulting in Injury, one count of Driving Under the Influence, Blood Alcohol Content Unknown, and was issued violations for Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and for Operating Left of Center.

Both occupants of the Toyota RAV4 were transported by rescue for treatment of their injuries which included suspected fractures. The crew of the Ladder truck was not injured.
