Driver Faces DUI in JIF Flowers Crash

[CREDIT: CPD] Coventry Police Headquarters at 60 Wood St, Coventry, RI.  Officers responded to an early morning JIF Flowers crash Dec. 8, 2025, arresting the driver on a DUI charge.
COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Police were called for a JIF Flowers crash into the building at 1117 Main St. this morning at 12:36 a.m., arresting the driver on a DUI charge.

JIF Flowers Crash: Extensive Damage, Minor Injuries

The building suffered extensive damage and the Coventry Building Inspector’s office responded to the scene.

The driver, Timothy Mitchell, 37, of North Providence, RI, displayed signs of impairment, and after an on-scene investigation was placed under arrest for suspicion of Driving while Under the Influence, Coventry Police report. He suffered minor injuries from the crash.

Mitchell was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in custody for treatment for his injuries. He will be arraigned on the charge later today.
