COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Police were called to Hill Street Wednesday at 5:51 p.m. for a fatal car – bicycle crash.

Coventry Rescue personnel also responded to the scene and pronounced the cyclist dead, according to Coventry Police.

The vehicle operator and witnesses remained on scene and are cooperating with police. The Coventry Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team and BCI are investigating the crash.

Coventry Police have asked the public to avoid Hill Street at South Pond Drive, which remained closed Wednesday.
