CPD Arrests Man for Stolen Vehicle, Eluding Police

COVENTRY, RI – Coventry Police arrested Jesse Boulais, 18, 162 Main St., Exeter, June 10,  charging him with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Eluding Police, and Resisting Arrest. 

On June 9th Coventry Police took a report of a stolen vehicle which happened during the  nighttime hours. On June 10 at 10 p.m. , Coventry Detectives observed the stolen vehicle in the  area of New London Turnpike in Coventry.

The vehicle fled and was later observed by West  Warwick Police Department. West Warwick Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop of the vehicle,  but it continued to flee from West Warwick back to Coventry via New London Turnpike.  Coventry Officers were able to successfully use spike strips on the vehicle and it came to rest on  Division Road in West Greenwich a short time later.  

Boulais was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and he was arraigned at Kent County District Court in Warwick on the  stolen car charges. He also has several charges stemming from the incident with West Warwick Police Dept.  

The Coventry Police Department thanked West Warwick and West Greenwich Police  Departments for their assistance in the stolen car arrest.
