COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Police arrested a 34-year-ol Flat River Road man Wednesday, May 21 for possession with intent to deliver a Coventry drug cache including Cocaine, Fentanyl, Meth and testosterone.

On May 21, Julio Rivera, 34, of 3541 Flat River Rd., Coventry, was arrested for Possession with Intent to Manufacture and Deliver Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Methamphetamine and Possession of testosterone (a Schedule III Drug).

After a months’ long investigation, the Coventry Police Department’s Detective Division executed a court authorized search warrant on May 21 at 11 a.m. at 3541 Flat River Road.

The search was assisted by Coventry Patrol Division, Police K9 “Nixo”, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and RI Department of Corrections-Special Investigations Home Confinement Unit. At the conclusion of the search, detectives located and seized 117 grams of cocaine, 91 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of fentanyl and vials of testosterone, drug cooking equipment, packaging materials, and a large amount of cash.

On May 22, Rivera was arraigned in Kent County District Court, where he was later presented as a Superior Court Bail Violator on 2024 West Warwick charge for Possession with intent to Deliver Controlled substance, possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance, possession of a firearm prohibited and possession of a stolen firearm and other associated charges. He was subsequently ordered to be held without bail at the ACI on the new charges.

In announcing the arrest and seizure of drugs, Coventry Police thanked the ATF, RI Department of Corrections-Special Investigations Home Confinement Unit, RI Dept. Of Corrections K9 unit and Warwick PD K9 unit for their assistance in what they described as a vast search of the property.
