COVENTRY, RI — Coventry weekend events this Thanksgiving weekend start with some live music and Christmas lights,  local Small Business Saturday events, then ends with a craft bazaar.

The Coventry weekend weather forecast promises sunny and clear skies with a chilly dip to 43 Friday, then another drop to 41 Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Sweaters and sweatshirts advised.

Here are some Coventry community events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this weekend:

Betsey Williams Cottage Open House From 10Betsey Williams Cottage Open House this season. Step back in time to explore the Betsey Williams Cottage, built in 1773 and home to Roger Williams’ great-great-great granddaughters, Betsey and Rhoda Williams.
Upon her death in 1871, Betsey Williams bequeathed the cottage and 102 acres of farmland to the city of Providence, which became the foundation of Roger Williams Park.

Rhode to Nowhere & The Earthmen at Tavern On The Hill Rhode to Nowhere and The Earthmen team up for a dbl header at Tavern On The Hill. 809 Nooseneck Hill Rd, West Greenwich RI, 8 p.m.-12 a.m.. We are hoping to see familiar faces.

Maddie Skeldon at Flat River Tavern Get to Flat River Tavern, 2260 Flat River, Coventry, RI, early. It’s going to fill up! Maddie Skeldon is today! FRT welcomes  back Maddie, singer-songwriter from Rhode Island. She performs live across New England while studying Music Business at Hofstra University.

Buy Nothing Day Coat Drive  Buy Nothing Day, an annual clothing swap that highlights “how consumerism is a dead end,” according to Prosperity for RI. We can make an impact by keeping our community safe, warm, and dry. Putting a coat in a donation bin may not seem like a heavy lift, but it could be life-saving for someone down the line. Small acts yield big results.

This year the exchange takes place on Friday, Nov. 28. Visit ricoatexchange.org/ for more info, including nearby drop-off spots.
Ocean State Artisans Holiday Craft Show The 32nd Ocean State Artisans Craft Show will be blooming with the perfect #holidaygifts for everyone on your List, with three days of  shopping from (9-5pm) on #blackfriday
and #smallbusinessSaturday, then 10-4 p.m. Sunday. This year the event is held at The Twin River Event Center, 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln, RI.
Tickets are $3  or $2 with a canned/non-perishable food item, for the food drive. “We are aiming to increase our support of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Conway Christmas Lights Extravaganza The annual Conway Christmas Light show is live at 265 Maple Valley Road Coventry, RI. Hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday 4:30 to 9 p.m., then Friday-Saturday 4:30-10 p.m.

Nathaniel Greene, Small Business Saturday The Nathanael Greene Homestead Gifts hop and Museum will be open Small Business Saturday Nov. 29 10 a.m. -3 p.m. The spot will offer half-price tours. Visit the Gift-shop, browse colonial wares from Wedges of Time, and watch historic Militia battle scenarios in the lower field.

The gift shop has books by local authors and goods from local artisans. It also has great stocking stuffers, books for history buffs, museum merchandise and much more. Stop by Saturday.

Did you know that even a small purchase from our gift shop makes a BIG difference. We are a small nonprofit entirely run and staffed by volunteers. Every penny we make goes directly to the preservation and maintenance of the Nathanael Greene Homestead. So please consider holiday shopping with us this Small Business Saturday.
