COVENTRY, RI — This week’s Coventry Weekend events lineup include teen crafts, Easter Bunny photos, a nearby egg hunt and a reminder to plan for the Reservoir Road detour.
The Coventry Weekend events weather forecast calls for mostly misty skies with highs in the 50s, then temps in the 60s with patchy fog Saturday, then back to the 50s with a chance of rain Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Here are some Coventry community events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this weekend:
Coventry Weekend Events Friday:
Coventry Youth Basketball Coventry Youth Basketball plays tonight, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Blackrock Elementary School’s gym. Coventry Youth Basketball Association, Inc. promotes the game of basketball among the youth in Coventry, RI by teaching fundamental basketball skills in a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Library Teen Felt Letter Craft (Registration required) Join us at Town Hall in Council Chambers April 3 from 6-8 p.m. for a Felt Letter Craft workshop. Teens will sew and create a felt charm of a letter. They will decorate it with sew on beads and other things they want for their letter. This is for teens in grades 6-12 and registration is required.
Roger Williams Park Easter Bunny Photos ($5) Hop to Carousel Village for everyone’s favorite bunny April 3 & 4, 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. to say hello to the Easter Bunny and pose for a sweet photo together. Carousel rides and train rides (weather-dependent) will be available for purchase, giving you the perfect day. Just be sure to bring your own camera to capture the magic! Capacity is limited, and tickets must be reserved online in advance.
Library Pet Photo Contest May is National Pet Month and to celebrate, we want to show off Coventry’s cutest pets! Send us a photo of your fur baby (or fin, scale, feather, or shell baby!) By April 10 to have it featured in the Coventry Public Library’s display case throughout May
Library visitors can vote for their favorite May 1 – 30 and a winner will be announced in June. With your pet’s photo, please send the following info so that we can get to know your pets:
- Pet’s name
- Pet’s age
- Pet’s favorite toy or hobby

Scituate Blanchard Farm Egg Hunt ($12) Join the Ability Bridge Foundations annual easter egg hunt at Blanchard’s Farm! Egg hunt, Crafts, Face paint, Food Trucks, and Easter bunny!
Join us for a fun-filled Easter celebration at Blanchard’s Farm April 4. Bring the whole family out for a day packed with springtime excitement and festive activities. Event ticket includes:

Don’t forget to bring your own basket to collect as many eggs as you can find

Plan Ahead: Reservoir Road Detour Monday Starting April 6 through April 17, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a traffic detour will begin on Reservoir Road. The detour will allow construction to connect Coventry High School to the sewer system.
Reservoir Road will be open to local traffic only from Tiogue Ave to Clubhouse Road. The detour will be in place from 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and will last two weeks, until April 17. There will be no through traffic on Reservoir Road during the hours of the detour.
