COVENTRY, RI — Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  April 6 – 15 involved charges for reckless driving, DUI, unlicensed firearms and stolen vehicle possession.

Coventry & Kent County Arrests

Reckless driving, WG crash On Sunday, April 6 at 10:20 a.m., troopers arrested Brandon Orellana Jr., 24, of 7 Elvira St., North Providence, Rhode Island for Reckless Driving. The arrest, one of six Kent County arrrests, was the result of troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident investigation on Rte. 95 South in West Greenwich.

Orellana was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Third Division District Court date.

Stolen vehicle, forgery, WW At 8:45 a.m. April 11,  troopers arrested Christopher Gregelevich, 37, of 27 Turner Drive West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1) Alteration of Vehicle Identification Numbers (5 counts), 2) Tampering with Odometer, 3) Possession of Stolen Vehicle (2 counts), 4) Possession of Stolen Vehicle Parts, 5) Forgery and Counterfeiting in General, 6) Conspiracy-Felony, 7) Giving False Document to Public Official, 8) Conspiracy-Misdemeanor, 9) Obstructing a Police Officer in Execution of Duty (2 counts) and 10) Receiving Stolen Goods. This arrest was the result of a Barracks investigation conducted by Trooper Felice and Troopers locating Mr. Gregelevich at his residence.

Gregelevich was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later transported to Third Division District Court for his arraignment where he was presented as a probation and bail violator.

DUI, EG stop At 2:22 a.m. April 11, troopers arrested Abdullah Yousafzai, 40, of 13 Bernon Drive Lincoln, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor- BAC Unknown- First Offense. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 in the Town of East Greenwich. Mr. Yousafzai was transported to Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.

WG stop, missed court On Tuesday, April 15, at 8:15 p.m., troopers arrested Chanel M. Barr, 42, of 53 Lisbon St., Providence, Rhode Island for a Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference with $1,000 Surety on the original charge of Vandalism originating out of the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of West Greenwich. Ms. Barr was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed, presented before the Justice of the Peace, and released.

Unlicensed pistol , large capacity loading device On Wednesday, April 16, at 2:17 a.m., troopers arrested Jonathan Asencio Perez, 32, of 249 Melvin Place, Fayetteville, North Carolina for 1.) License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2.) Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, 3.) Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, and 4.) Forgery and Counterfeiting of Registration Plates.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the Town of West Greenwich. Mr. Perez was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.

No contact order violation At 12:40 a.m. April 19, troopers arrested Christopher L. James, 32, of 336 Hill St., Coventry, Rhode Island, for Violation of No Contact Order – 1st Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in the Town of Hopkinton. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks to be processed and held overnight as a bail violator.
