WARWICK, RI — Warwick arrests in the Warwick RI Trooper Log Jan. 10 – 18  involved charges including DUI, stolen vehicle possession and indecent solicitation of a child by a man on probation for a child molestation charge.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Warwick RI Trooper Log arrests:

RI Trooper Log Warwick Arrests Jan. 12 -18

Obstructing officer, Warwick stop At 3:53 p.m. Jan. 12, Luis Rijo Kelley,  27, of 125 Galego St., Pawtucket, RI for 1.) Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest, one of six Warwick arrests during this time, was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick. Rijo Kelley was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace and then transported to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake where he will be held as a probation and bail violator.

Stolen vehicle, stolen goods On Wednesday Jan. 15 at 12:25 a.m., troopers arrested Robinson Dejesus Calderon, 21, of 20 Miller Ave., Apartment #3, Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Possession of Stolen Vehicle, 2.) Receiving Stolen Goods, and 3.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Sexual Assault and Domestic – Simple Assault, originating out of the Providence Police Department. This arrest was a result of Troopers responding to reports of a road walker on Route 95 South, in the City of Warwick. Calderon was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight as a bail violator pending morning arraignment/presentment at Third Division District Court.

Missed court, insurance fraud At 5:56 p.m. Jan. 15, troopers arrested Brendan Handfield, 50, of 45 Algonquin Drive, Warwick, RI for a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution on the original charge of Insurance Fraud, originating out of State Police Headquarters.

The arrest, one of six Warwick arrests this week, was the result of Troopers assisting a disabled tractor trailer on Route 95 South in the City of Warwick. Handfield was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men’s Intake.

Indecent solicitation of child On Jan. 15, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Hector Nunez, 32, of 685 East Ave. #2B, Warwick, Rhode Island, for Indecent Solicitation of a Child. Nunez was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, then to Kent District Court for arraignment. The apprehension was one of six Warwick arrests within the last week.

Nunez was arraigned by the Honorable Judge O’Neill, who issued $10,000 surety bail with conditions of no unsupervised contact with minors and limited internet use. Nunez was held as a Superior Court probation violator on an original charge of First-Degree Child Molestation and is a Level 2 Sex Offender.

Wanted in Warwick for Shoplifting, various warrants  On Jan. 16, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Greg Anthony, 42, of 494 Plainfield St., 2nd Flr, Providence Rhode Island, on the following:

1) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Cranston Police Department for Felony Shoplifting, Habitual Shoplifting and Trespassing;

2) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Warwick Police Department for Felony Shoplifting and Habitual Shoplifting;

3) Fugitive from Justice Warrant drafted by the Seekonk Massachusetts Police Department for Larceny over $1,200;

4) Fugitive from Justice Warrant drafted by the Attleboro Massachusetts Police Department for Felony Larceny;

5) Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on an original charge of Simple Assault;

6) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on an original charge of Shoplifting/Grand Theft;

7) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on an original charge of Felony Shoplifting (Use of Implement);

8) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on an original charge of Shoplifting/Grand Theft; and

9) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on an original charge of Shoplifting/Grand Theft (2nd Offense). Mr. Anthony was taken into custody without incident, processed and turned over to the custody of the Cranston Police Department.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI arrest At 1:09 a.m. Jan. 18, troopers arrested Nicholas Agruso, 27, of 251 Foddering Farm Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – BAC Unknown – 1st Offense; and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – 1st Offense.

This arrest, one of six Warwick arrests by RI Trooper this week, was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. Mr. Agruso was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult, with a future Third Division District Court date.
