Food Stamp Fraud Charge At 12:43 p.m. March 7, troopers arrested Melanie A. Merritt, 45, of 131 New London Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Fraudulently Obtain Public Assistance > 500, 2.) Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps > 500, 3.) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses/ Personation > 10,000, and 4.) Giving False Documents to Agent, Employee, or Public Official.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and Merritt turning herself into the Barracks. The subject was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of The Peace and released with a future Third District Court date.
Centerville Road Stop, DUI Charge At 1:23 a.m. March 10, troopers arrested Laila Rashid, 25, of 385 Larchwood Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in the City of Warwick.
Troopers transported Rashid to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future 3rd Division District Court Date.
Centerville Road Stop, DUI Charge On Thursday, March 12, at 12:06 a.m., troopers arrested Brooke Burke, 37, of 2 Chapel Street Rear Apt., Norwood, Massachusetts for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in Warwick. Troopers transported Burke to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court date.
Blackmail, Exploiting Elder Charge At 8:15 p.m. March 11, troopers arrested Bruce McKenzie, 37, of 125 Byron Boulevard, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Exploitation of an Elder over $500 and less than $100,000, 2.) Extortion and Blackmail, 3.) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses over $5,000 and less than $10,000, and 4.) Driving Without Consent of Owner or Lessee.
The arrest was the result of a Barracks investigation and the Everett, Massachusetts Police Department locating McKenzie. McKenzie was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
Erratic Driver Report, Rte. 95, DUI Charge At 6:07 p.m. March 13, troopers arrested Devon A. Collins, 27, of 398 Wellington Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – BAC .10 – .15 or Greater – Second Offense. (Phase I: .20% and Phase II: .20%)
The arrest was the result of an erratic operator call and Troopers subsequently locating the subject vehicle on Rte. 95 North in the City of Warwick.
Collins was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks where he was processed. The subject was then transported to the Adult Corrections Institute – Men’s Intake where he will be held over the weekend pending morning arraignment at Third Division District court where he will be presented as a Probation Violator.
Warwick Rte. 95 Stop, DUI Charge At 10:09 p.m. March 13, troopers arrested Justin Warner, 36, of 185 Washington Street, Apt. 2, Central Falls, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in Warwick.
Warner was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court date.
WPD Warrant, No Contact Order Violation At 12:49 a.m. March 13, troopers arrested Matthew Sweet, 40, of 12 Epworth Ave ., Unit 1, West Warwick, Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic Violence – No Contact Order originating out of the Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in West Warwick. Sweet was transported to State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Warwick Police Department.
