Mayor Frank Picozzi has announced that early voting will be held this Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the lower level of Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Rd, Warwick, RI. Early voting on the bond began Jan. 14.
The makeup early voting day is being offered to ensure residents who were planning to vote on Monday still have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming special election, Picozzi’s office announced.
The special election, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, asks voters to consider the additional $50 million bond authorization.
Approval of the bond authorization would allow the City to issue up to $50 million in general obligation bonds in case construction costs exceed the $350 million previously approved by voters. The authorization does not automatically trigger the use of funds but provides flexibility to address potential cost increases.
The City Council has also approved language allowing any remaining funds to be used for recreational facilities and athletic fields, if applicable.
Picozzi encouraged all eligible voters who were prevented from early voting by Monday’s closure to take advantage of the Saturday early voting option.
