WARWICK, RI — Warwick has set a parking ban for the city starting at noon Sunday until noon Monday as the National Weather Service’s Winter Weather Advisory warns snowfall accumulating to 3 to 7 inches by 7 a.m. Monday.
Snow began falling early Sunday morning, as the Winter Weather Advisory went into effect.
‘Because of the anticipated snow storm there will be a parking ban in effect from noon tomorrow thru noon on Monday.
If you see someone violating the parking ban, call the Warwick Police,” Mayor Frank Picozzi announced on his Facebook page.
The Weather Service notes people in southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island should expect slippery road conditions.
“Periods of snow develop Sunday morning and continue at times into Sunday afternoon. The heaviest of the snow will occur late Sunday afternoon and night…when snowfall rates may exceed 1 inch per hour. While the steadiest snow should be over by daybreak Monday… snow showers may linger into the Monday morning commute making for hazardous travel.”
The Weather Service warns drivers, “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
