Trooper Log Coventry Arrests Dec. 20: DUI, Reckless Driver

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  Dec. 10- 20 involved charges for DUI, reckless driving and check forgery.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Kent County and Coventry arrests in the Coventry area:

Kent County, Coventry Arrests Dec. 14 – 20

Reckless Driving charge On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025 at 9:51 p.m., troopers arrested Jose Galvao, 48, of 58 Pidge Ave., Floor #1, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for Reckless Driving. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of West Warwick.

Galvao was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court date.

DUI charge, Rte. 95 Stop: On Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11:12 p.m., troopers arrested Nicholas J. Abele, 39, of 113 Lynch Hill Road, Oakdale, Connecticut, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – B.A.C. Unknown – First Offense, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in the Town of West Greenwich.

Abele was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.

DUI charge, EG stop At 12:14 a.m. Dec. 19, troopers arrested Edwin Santander Lozado, 25, of 16 Jefferson St., Apartment 2, Milford, Massachusetts, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – B.A.C .08 to .10 – First Offense (Phase 1: 0.095%, Phase 2: 0.090%). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in East Greenwich.

Lozado was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.

Wanted in Attleboro on forgery charge At 10:30 p.m.,  Dec. 19, troopers arrested Corey A. Johnson, 36, of 1 Highland Avenue, Floor 1, Coventry, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive from Justice out of Attleboro, Massachusetts on the original charge of Passing Forged Checks out of the Attleboro Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Carpenter Street in Providence.

Johnson was transported to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake Center.
