WARWICK, RI — There is plenty to get you in the holiday spirit this Warwick weekend, as this weekend brings Winterfest, a toy drive, a Winter Welcome Mat Workshop, a holiday market, and several other family holiday activities.

The Warwick weekend weather forecast promises cloudy with a slight chance of snow, with a high near 34 Friday, mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, with a high near 44 Saturday, and partly sunny, with a high near 42 Sunday , the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this Warwick weekend:

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Lite 105 and Warwick Mall Present the Children’s Friend Spirit of Giving Toy Drive Join us on Friday, December 5 LIVE from the Carousel Food Court from 3:00-7:00 p.m. as Lite 105, The Christmas Station, and Warwick mall proudly team up with Children’s Friend for the Spirit of Giving Toy Drive. Donate a new, unwrapped toy and make a child smile on Christmas morning. Kids who donate ride the Carousel for free, and there will be a raffle to enter for the chance to win Ed Sheeran tickets, limited edition Lite 105 Christmas swag, and more. Can’t make it but still want to donate? Drop off a toy at the Warwick Mall Customer Service Desk anytime.

Bring Your Own Improv, WCFA Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $11.63. If you’re looking for something fun to do late on a Friday night in Warwick, they’ve got you covered. Their Caffeinated Insomniacs Comedy show – designed for teens and adults – is the place to be at 10 p.m. Their show welcomes voluntary audience participation. You can participate in one of three ways: applaud for a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved.

Winterfest returns: Celebrating its third year, thousands regularly attend Apponaug Winterfest. This year, revelers will be able to enjoy the new Greenwood Credit Union City Hall Plaza ice rink [See that story and a brief timeline of Apponaug’s continuing, decade-long transformation], skating free until 3 o’clock.There will be the parade peopled by schools, the WFD, WPD, local businesses and Santa, pictures with Santa when he caps the procession, face painting, hay rides and much more and it’s all free except for the food trucks and skate rentalsAs always there will be off site parking at Tollgate High School with free shuttle busses to the event.

Christmas Movie & Toy Drive Free Christmas Movie & Hot Cocoa – The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, 2pm or 6pm, sponsored by Presbyterian Woman (PW) of Greenwood Community Church, 805 Main Ave. Warwick, RI.

National Gold & Diamond Presents: The Magic of Christmas For over 50 years, Rhode Islanders have admired our iconic Christmas lights display on Route 95 from afar. Once again this year, you can come experience the magic up close. Come take family photos, stroll through the light display, and enjoy a family friendly celebration, featuring photos with Santa, food trucks, live music, and free holiday activities for the kids. Don’t miss this unforgettable holiday experience.

Winter Welcome Mat Workshop Create your own custom holiday welcome mat and add a personal touch to your front door. Step into the season with creativity and cheer. Join us on Saturday, December 6 for a fun, hands-on Welcome Mat Painting Event. Whether you’re looking to add a personal touch to your front door or create a festive gift for a friend or family member, this event has you covered. All painting supplies are included. Enjoy light refreshments, festive music, and get in the Christmas spirit.

We have two sessions for this event— join us anytime between 12:00-3:00 p.m. or 4:00-7:00 p.m. Light snacks and hot chocolate are included. Alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
