WARWICK, RI — On Friday, Oct. 10, at about 2:45 p.m., Warwick Police responded to 665 Main Ave. responding to a welfare check request by the Derby, CT Police Department for a man experiencing some type of mental health crisis.

At the address, officers were granted entry to the residence by a roommate. When they attempted to make contact with the individual in question, officers found him locked in his room. Officers were able to communicate through the door and determined the male was in crisis.

A short time later, the male subject exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported by Warwick Fire Department for evaluation.

At this time, no charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing, and there is no threat to the public.
