

WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police report speed was likely a factor when a motorcycle crashed head-on into a Warwick Fire Department rescue Sept. 22 on Diamond Hill Road at 7:40 p.m.
According to a statement about the crash by Warwick Police, the WFD rescue was returning to Station 5 when it was struck head-on by a motorcycle on Diamond Hill Road near Larchmont Drive. The motorcycle operator had been traveling northbound on Diamond Hill Road when it lost control on approach to a bend in the road, crossing the double yellow line, and colliding with WFD Rescue 2, which had been traveling in the south lane.
The motorcycle operator was transported by another rescue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
WPD Seek Help Investigating Why Motorcycle Crashed
The Warwick Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is actively investigating. Initial evidence shows that the motorcyclists speed was a factor.
