COVENTRY, RI — Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log  Sept. 15 – 20  involved charges for DUI, reckless driving, and public assistance fraud.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police Kent County and Coventry arrests in the Coventry area:

Kent County, Coventry Arrests Sept. 15 – 20

WW stop, suspended license On Monday, Sept. 15, 2025 At 10:05 p.m., troopers arrested Iraida Cabana, 45, of 8 Armistice Boulevard, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for Driving with a Suspended License Special Circumstances.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in the Town of West Warwick. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed and held at State Police Headquarters pending morning arraignment.

Suboxone possession On Wednesday Sept. 17, at 10:07 a.m., troopers arrested Melanie Ferreira, 53, of 31 Knight St., West Warwick, Rhode Island, for Possession of a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance (Suboxone) – 10 Grams or Less.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Royal Little Drive in the City of Providence. Ferreira was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.

DUI, Rte. 95 stop On Tuesday, Sept 16, 10:43 p.m., troopers arrested Daniel Jeanloz, 55, of 35 Dye Hill Road, Hope Valley, Rhode Island for Driving Under the Influence of Liquor 1st Offense- B.A.C. .10 to .15 (Phase I: .106, Phase II: .101). The arrest took place as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in West Greenwich.

Jeanloz was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released pending a future court date.

Obstructing officer On Wednesday Sept. 17, 2025, at 4 p.m., troopers arrested Jiyong Jang, 56, of 20110 Patriot Way, West Greenwich, Rhode Island, for Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest was the result of an accident investigation that occurred on Rte. 95 South in the City of Providence, and Jang turning himself in at the Lincoln Barracks. Jang was processed and misdemeanor released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.

CPD warrant, illegal drugs On Wednesday Sept. 17, 2025, at 5:14 p.m., troopers arrested Corey Woodard, 40, of 89 Lonsdale St., Apartment #6, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance, originating out of the Coventry Police Department, 2.) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Manufacturing/Delivering/Possession with Intent, originating out of the Coventry Department, and 3.) Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Manufacturing/Delivering/Possession with Intent, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in the City of Providence. Woodard was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.

Quaker Lane stop, DUI On Friday, Sept. 20, 2025 at 2:42 a.m., troopers arrested Michael J. Fritz, 37, of 15 Andrews Avenue, West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor B.A.C. Unknown- 1st Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Quaker Lane in the Town of West Warwick.

Fritz was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult pending a future court date.
