COVENTRY, RI — Get your dancing shoes on at the start of a three-day Labor Day weekend in the Coventry community, as our events roundup features several live music events, along with a local artisans meet up, and the usual goat events.

The Coventry Community events weather forecast promises a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, then mostly sunny, with a high near 74 Saturday, and mostly sunny, with a high near 76 Sunday. Monday will be Sunny, with a high near 76,  the National Weather Service reports.

Here are some Coventry community events and happenings to help you decide where you’re spending this weekend:

Coventry Community Events Friday:

Free Summer Entertainment Series ft. Eddy’s Shoe Come on out to the Town Hall Annex (1675 Flat River Road) on Friday, August 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. as Coventry Parks and Recreation’s Free Summer Entertainment Series continues with a performance by Eddy’s Shoe. Bring your favorite chair or blanket, pack a snack, grab a friend, and enjoy live music from our talented artists. We hope to see you there!

Goat Snuggles Come join us at Amazing Grace Farm and enjoy time with our goats. Brush them, snuggle them, give them snacks, and watch them play. We guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face. Each snuggle session is about 40 minutes long.

  • Fridays at 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 a.m.

Coventry Community Events Saturday:

Purple Honey at Lake Taco Time to get out those dancing shoes. Come out to Lake Taco on Saturday, August 30 from 7-10 p.m. as Purple Honey brings you popular hits you can’t help but move to. Come grab a margarita, eat tacos, and shake it at Coventry’s best outdoor patio. Join us for a free live performance with our 7-piece full band. We hope to see you there!

Local Artisan Meet Up Come on out to Endeavors and More (89 Sandy Bottom Road) on Saturday, August 30 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for our Local Artisans Meet Up. We are excited for you to come meet some of our local artisans out front under the tents. They will have specials and items that aren’t on the shelves inside. Plus, enjoy taste testing local raw honey and some We Be Jammin. We look forward to having you join us.

After Hours at Olde Theater Restaurant and Lounge Join us at Olde Theater Restaurant and Lounge on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m. for a live performance by After Hours. After Hours is a dynamic cover band known for blending the best of today’s chart-toppers with unforgettable hits from the 1990s. With a high-energy stage presence and a versatile sound, they seamlessly switch from the polished pop of Harry Styles to the nostalgic anthems of Jin Blossoms, Three Doors Down, and the Backstreet Boys. Community Roots Market We’re delighted to announce that Community Roots Market is coming to Coventry, RI, and we’re eager for you all to join us. We’ll be featuring locally grown and crafted goods. Located at 2501 Nooseneck Hill Rd, Coventry, RI. Open every Saturday from 4-6 p.m.

Goat Hike and Snuggle Come take a walk in the woods with us and our little herd of goats. The goats are off-leash and forage their way through the trails with us. We stop in several spots for you to interact with them and give them snacks. Easy terrain with a few small hills. The hike is about 40 minutes long. Each hike ends with a snuggle session!

  • Saturdays at 2 p.m.
  • Sundays at 10 a.m.

Baby Goat Yoga Join us on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. for a unique experience of yoga class plus baby goats! Our instructor will lead you through the class while the babies run, play, and most likely climb on you. All levels welcome. You will most likely get dirty, so don’t wear anything that can’t be washed. Bring a yoga mat (we have loaners) and an open mind. You will definitely enjoy this class.

Cost is $30 per person.

Coventry Community Events Monday – Labor Day:

Today is a federal holiday paying tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers, traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday marks the unofficial end of summer, so take advantage of the federal, state and local offices shutting down for the day to put you worries off for the end of the three day weekend.
