Warwick Weekend Events: Free Movie, Fundraisers

Warwick Weekend events this week include a free Star Wars movie, a Star Wars brunch, the year's first Farmers Market and a bunch of fun fundraisers.

WARWICK, RI — This week’s May The Fourth Warwick Weekend events begin with the return of the RI Grown Farmer’s Market, a free movie tonight and then a bunch of fun fundraisers Saturday, with a few clouds and fair weather till Sunday.

The weather for this round of Warwick Weekend events starts with partly cloudy skies Friday and Saturday, with high temps at 60 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy Sunday with temperatures in the high 50s and a 50% chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table.

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

 Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

Proclamation Ale Free Movie Friday Proclamation Ale Company shows “The Empire Strikes Back” tonight and hosts a Cinco de Mayo celebration Sunday. It’s Free movie night again with another first Friday at 8 p.m. at the Proclamation Taproom. During first Fridays, Proclamation shows a movie in the taproom with sound. Movies start at 8 p.m. until otherwise noted. Outside chairs permitted.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

Shannon View Innn Chili cook-off fundraiser The3rd Annual “Always Bet on RED” chili cook-off at Shannon View Inn
is this Saturday May 4, 12-4 p.m.  Support wildlife rescue and ALS research. All proceeds go directly to the Elizabeth C. Grey Foundation. $20 at the door gets you a hamburger or hotdog, a pint of beer, and all the chili you can eat! They have 20 contestants this year so bring your appetite.

Harbor Lights Star Wars Brunch  A Star Wars-themed kids brunch will be held at Harbor Lights Saturday from
Brunch like the Jedi and enjoy Stormtrooper Pancakes, Han Solo Hash, Empire Scrambled Eggs, Princess Leia Cinnamon Buns, and lots of other mouthwatering options. Kids are also able to DIY their own lightsaber! RSVP at the link and see the full menu.
Wyman Community Yard Sale Visit Wyman School, 1 Columbia Ave., Warwick, RI, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop a yard sale from the contributions of 10 local families, a bake sale and a book sale. Proceeds benefit the Wyman PTO. Rain date is Sunday.
Barks & Bubbles Fundraiser RUFF RIders Dog Day Camp, 317 Bald Hill Road, hosts “Barks & Bubbles” to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Ticket includes a wash & dry, fresh bandana, treat, and professional dog photo! New England Patriots cheerleaders are the event’s special guests.
