Brain Health Workshop
September 28 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Home Instead office in Warwick is hosting a brain health workshop for Home Instead clients, their families and caregivers to help drive understanding of Alzheimer’s and other dementias and offer actions caregivers can take to help themselves and their loved ones.
Lauren George, training coordinator at Home Instead Warwick, can draw on extensive experience caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias to provide guidance on recognizing the signs, reducing the risk, and reimagining care. She also can share insights on what family caregivers say they need most to stabilize mental and physical health. Alzheimer’s disease affects more than six million Americans, and the number is expected to double by 2050.
According to the CDC, 80% of Alzheimer’s care is provided in the home, not a facility. For the family caregivers in the Providence area caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, taking simple steps to champion brain health can help break the cycle.
