WARWICK, RI  — Warwick Public Schools Superintendent Phil Thornton reported this afternoon that a high-pressure “jetting” cleaning of  the Warwick Veterans Jr. High septic system  by Diffley Septic, Sewer & Drains, Inc. has cleared a clog believed responsible for septic problems and a backup into a physical therapy room last week.

“Test results revealed a clogged line in the system. This line was “jetted” and cleared. Diffley is also cleaning the entire system while on site today,” Thornton said.

In the process, Thornton said the septic system backed up though a floor drain in the physical therapy, which he characterized as small. He said a team on site cleaned up the backup.

“The work completed today brings the system back on line in it’s normal operating mode.  This being said, this item will be on the April 4, 2017 School Committee Agenda for discussion and possible action with regard to connecting to the City sewer system,” Thornton wrote in a release sent to media.
