Two Rhode Island authors will be reading from recent works at “Lively Literati” hosted by The Elephant Room on October 29th at 6:30 p.m. Featured are Alex Kimmell (“The Idea of North”) and Peter Larrivee (“Revenant”).
Following the readings, audience members will have an opportunity to share their own works of poetry, prose or other creative writing at an open mic. Admission is free and open to the public. Signed books from featured authors will be available for purchase. The event is co-sponsored by the Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) and will be hosted by member Deborah Halliday.
ARIA and The Elephant Room host “Lively Literati” on the last Thursday of the month as an ongoing event to help promote the work of local poets and writers. In keeping with Halloween, the theme this month is Horror.
The Elephant Room is a minimalist-style loose leaf tea house that offers a variety of coffee products, beer, wine, wheatgrass shots, daily specialty waters, pastries and an extensive crêpe menu. More information can be found on its website, www.ElephantTeaRoom.com.
The Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) is a non-profit organization of over 200 local, published writers of poetry, fiction and non-fiction committed to raising awareness of the outstanding literary works crafted by Rhode Island artists.
