WARWICK, RI — In-home tutoring service Tutor Doctor RI honored “World Teachers Day” Oct. 8 by asking people in Warwick to vote for their favorite school to win drinks and snacks for the staff refrigerator during their “Stock the Fridge” event, and Warwick Veterans Middle School won the prize.

More than 3,000 votes cast on Tutor Doctor RI’s Facebook page, and Warwick Veterans Middle School won with 104 votes.

On Monday, Patti Avin of Tutor Doctor RI visited the school equipped with food and drinks for Warwick Veterans Middle School staffers, and loaded up the school fridge. Principal David Tober gave her a hand,

Tober also sent a thank-you note by email later that day.

“The teaching profession is often a thankless one and when people step up like you did, it means the world. Your recognition of our teachers and our school validates the hard work done on behalf of our students,” Tober wrote.
